Work through the task
Translate a comma-delimited string table into tab-delimited text.
- Enter a valid CSV table with a header row.
- Read the TSV result as a table. Quoted tabs/newlines and cell values remain data; record line endings may normalize.
- Review the result before copying or downloading. Editing an input invalidates the previous result; keep an original if the transformation matters.
Example to check
A CSV name cell "Lin, Mei" remains the text Lin, Mei in TSV rather than splitting at the comma.
Limits and output behavior
Maximum 100,000 source characters. Tables require unique nonempty headers, a data row and consistent field counts. Cells remain strings unless an offered scalar mode is explicitly selected. Quoting does not neutralize spreadsheet formulas; import untrusted data as text.
Troubleshooting
Fix CSV quoting/header/row-width errors before converting. Tabs or newlines inside a cell need the supported quoting; they are not extra records to discard.
Questions
Will the comma in a quoted name split into another cell?
No. A quoted comma is cell data. Translation changes delimiters while preserving the supported string-cell values.
