Work through the task
Write HTML from the supported small Markdown subset and inspect an inert preview.
- Use headings, paragraphs, lists, emphasis or fenced code from the documented subset.
- Run the conversion and compare the text output with the empty-sandbox preview. Raw HTML source becomes text.
- Review the result before copying or downloading. Editing an input invalidates the previous result; keep an original if the transformation matters.
Example to check
# Title produces an h1. A **bold** word becomes strong text. <script> remains escaped text.
Limits and output behavior
Maximum 100,000 source characters and 1,000,000 output characters. NUL and unclosed fenced blocks are rejected. Links, images and general Markdown extensions are not inferred.
Troubleshooting
Close fenced code blocks and stay within the supported subset/size limit. Raw HTML is escaped as text; links/images/extensions are not inferred.
Questions
Why does pasted HTML appear as text?
The Markdown subset does not execute raw HTML. It emits escaped text and an inert preview rather than enabling arbitrary active markup.
Input and privacy
Processing runs in this browser. Inputs are not saved automatically. An explicitly chosen local draft, where offered, is plaintext storage on this device. Downloaded files, clipboard contents and browser extensions have separate retention behavior.
