Work through the task
Translate an integer digit string between bases 2 through 36.
- Select the input and output bases explicitly; letters represent digits above nine.
- Enter an integer in the selected input base. A fractional quantity or an expression is not an integer digit string.
- Review the result before copying or downloading. Editing an input invalidates the previous result; keep an original if the transformation matters.
Example to check
FF in base 16 → 255 in base 10. The value stays the same.
Limits and output behavior
Only the documented integer syntax and bounded digit length are supported. Invalid digits for the selected base and unsupported ranges are rejected.
Troubleshooting
Check that every digit belongs to the selected input base. Remove grouping, decimal fractions or expression syntax; the converter expects a bounded integer digit string.
Questions
Does FF mean the same value in every base?
No. F is a digit only in bases with at least sixteen digits. FF in hexadecimal represents decimal 255.
