Work through the task
Count text, change case, clean ASCII spacing or order and deduplicate lines.
- Choose the action before applying cleanup options; counting describes the original input.
- Read Unicode/code-point and line rules carefully. Sorting and deduplication have explicit trim, empty-line and comparison options.
- Review the result before copying or downloading. Editing an input invalidates the previous result; keep an original if the transformation matters.
Example to check
A😀 has 3 UTF-16 code units, 2 Unicode code points and 5 UTF-8 bytes.
Limits and output behavior
Maximum 100,000 UTF-16 units and 10,000 logical lines. Unpaired surrogates are rejected. Counts depend on the browser’s Unicode segmentation where applicable; case mapping is not locale-specific full case folding.
Troubleshooting
Check the 100,000 UTF-16-unit / 10,000-line limits and malformed-surrogate diagnostic. Select trim/empty-line/case options explicitly before sorting or deduplication.
Questions
Why do UTF16 length and character counts differ?
An astral character uses two UTF16 code units. Code-point/grapheme/byte counts answer different questions and are labelled separately.
Input and privacy
Processing runs in this browser. Inputs are not saved automatically. An explicitly chosen local draft, where offered, is plaintext storage on this device. Downloaded files, clipboard contents and browser extensions have separate retention behavior.
